All aspects of Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity are promoted in Nigeria by Chini Productions, the official representatives of the Festival in the region. The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity is the world's biggest celebration of creativity in marketing communications. As the most prestigious international awards in the industry, more than 22,500 entries from all over the world are showcased and judged at the Festival. Winners receive the highly coveted Lion trophy, presented at four award ceremonies during the week.
The Festival is also the only truly global meeting place for advertisers, advertising and communication professionals. Over 6,000 delegates from 90 countries attend seven days of workshops, exhibitions, screenings, master classes and high-profile seminars by the likes of Sir Martin Sorrell, Bob Greenberg, Kofi Annan, Steve Ballmer, Biz Stone, Maurice Lévy, Bob Geldof, Mark Tutssel, Tham Khai Meng and Mark Zuckerberg. Cannes Lions is the most important networking and learning opportunity of the year for industry professionals. It is the must-attend event for anyone involved in brand communication.
In Nigeria, the Young Lions Competition, Roger Hatchuel Academy and Cannes Lions Rewind are some of the major activities undertaken by Chini Productions to promote the Festival. The various categories of the Young Lions Competition are guided by similar rules as those for the Young Lions Competition in Cannes and are judged by juries made up of top Nigerian creatives and communication professionals. The winning teams qualify to represent Nigeria in Cannes in their respective categories. Through the Young Lions Competition, we have been able to expose 12 young Nigerian professionals and 3 Nigerian students under the Roger Hatchuel Academy Programme to the best that the world’s advertising and communication industry has to offer.
